INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

The BJD Annual World Network Conference held in Berlin, Germany, from 30 October – 1 November 2003 to review the performance and progress of the global and national programs announced its third BJD International awards. BJD - INDIA was honored with 3 of them.



BJD Ambassador


Prof. T K Shanmugasundaram, Former Chairman, BJD-INDIA: NAN was appointed as a BJD Ambassador for the ASIA region at the BJD Annual World Network Conference 2003 in Berlin, Germany. Prof T K Shanmugasundaram will be working to spread the BJD mission in the neighbouring countries around INDIA.

International Award For Partnership


Dr. Arvind Chopra, National Secretary, BJD-INDIA: NAN, was presented this award at the BJD Annual World Network Conference 2003 in Berlin, Germany, for recognition of exceptional achievement in developing an innovative program or event based on collaborations through public, private, and/or government partnerships in support of the Bone and Joint Decade mission of improving the health related quality of life for people with musculoskeletal disorders worldwide.



The E-Poster Award


India received the second best e-Poster based annual BJD progress award, amongst the 30 countries that competed, for the distinguished contribution at the e-Poster session at the BJD Annual World Network Conference 2003 held on October 31 - November 2, 2003 in Berlin, Germany.


BJD Ambassador


Prof. Dinesh Mohan, Former Coordinator, BJD-INDIA: NAN, was appointed as a BJD Ambassador at the BJD World Network Conference 2005 in Ottawa, Canada.
Like Prof. T K Shanmugasundaram, Prof. Dinesh Mohan will also be working to spread the BJD mission.

LATE SHRI AMRUT MODY UNICHEM - BJD INDIA RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AWARD 2005

In 2003, the BJD-INDIA: NAN jointly with Unichem Laboratories Ltd. announced the ‘Late Shri Amrut Modi Unichem - BJD India Fellowship awards’ for young medical graduates. This award consists of Rs.10,000/- and is presented in two instalments. Rs.5000/- prior to the beginning of the project and remaining Rs.5000/- after submission of the final report to BJD-INDIA: NAN office, Pune. The Unichem Laboratories Ltd. has declared that this award will be presented to fresh medical graduates every year till 2007.
